Historical context

Mycenaean equipment can be studied through surviving weapons and ancient imagery. The National Archaeological Museum presents both in its Mycenaean collection, including the Warrior Vase and Warrior Stele. This is contextual evidence for the collection’s Bronze Age theme, not proof that the present horn arrangement, pattern or materials reproduce a particular excavated helmet.
